The Wellness Kit will be used this year in a trial in South Africa’s largest and most progressive HMO. The trial will encompass 5,000 families and last for six months. The trial will assess if there is decreased utilization of patients of their primary care provider and decreased absenteeism at work.

 

InteMedica will shortly commence a supportive trial of Integrated Medicine in chronic refractory disease patients with a large Southern Californian HMO, RegalMed, in Northridge, California. The trial will be initially on patients with congestive cardiac failure, to be followed by diabetes and multiple organ failure patients. Patients will act as their own controls and comparisons will be drawn between historic acute hospital admissions and the Integrated Medicine control period.

 

InteMedica is busy initiating an institutional, on site, Integrated Medicine clinic in a large public employer to demonstrate cost savings, employee retention and reduced sick leave usage.
